Club: With pleasure and pride, we have created and supported many projects
throughout the years to further the goals of the local, district, state, Deep
South, and National Garden Club. - To aid in
the beautification of the community.
- To promote a greater love of gardening.

To protect the native trees, flowers, shrubs, birds and butterflies and other
wildlife.
- To promote a litter free community.
- To encourage every
member to recycle.

To further the education of the
members in the fields of; gardening, horticulture, landscape design, garden therapy,
trees, birds, protection of the environment and conservation of the natural resources:
soil, water, and energy. We hope that
you will explore our site including the many informational resources we have assembled
to further your joy of gardening. Friends,
Memberships, and Affiliations:
Local: There are four
active garden clubs in Hartwell, Georgia; the Hartwell Garden Club, the Madora
Garden Club (named for Madora Skelton
Walker), the Nancy Hart Garden Club, and the Pine Tree Garden Club.
District: All four clubs belong to the Azalea
District. Azalea, Camellia, Dogwood, Laurel, Magnolia, Oleander, and Redbud
are the seven districts of Georgia's state garden club, The Garden Club of Georgia,
Inc.
State: The
Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization. Founded
in 1928, it has approximately 16,000 members statewide forming 550 individual
garden clubs.
Deep South: Georgia is one of the southern states
in the Deep South Region,
and The Deep South Region is one of the eight regions of The National Garden Clubs,
Inc.
National: Founded in 1929. The
National Garden Club is "the largest volunteer gardening organization
in the world" with 264,440 members forming 8,488 garden clubs in 50 states
and the District of Columbia, 49 National Affiliate Members and 447 International
Affiliate Members. |
